Fourth grade is the culmination of music at Bacich. Students continue to build on the knowledge and repertoire they have gained during their first four years of study to continue to sing, play, and perform a higher level of musicianship which will prepare them for their musical experiences at Kent.

 

 

Fourth grade music students will:

 

• Read, write, derive, and perform songs with the notes la-so-mi-re-do (pentatonic scale) and rhythms ta (quarter note), ti-ti (eighth notes), rest (quarter note), tiri-tiri (sixteenth notes), syncopa (eigth quarter eighth).
   

• Sing different types of forms, canons, and ostinati (repeated musical pattern) in two to four part harmony.

• Sing and play folk songs, dances, and games from around the world. 

​

• Use classroom keyboards to improvise and continue their work with the pentatonic scale.​

​

• Continue their work on recorder. Playing in harmony and more complex music.
